Abstract

|
Retroperitoneal tumor are rare comparatively. It is always considerable to differentiate abdominal mass. Recently we had experienced two cases of the retroperitoneal tumor, which was misdiagnosed as a malignant ovarian cyst and pancreatic pseudocyst. The one is malignant schwannoma and the other teratoma.
The correct diagnosis of retroperitoneal tumor are difficult, because it isextensive space of retroperitoneum and symptoms are noted by distorted or displaced neighbouring structures. The location and huge size of the tumor has precluded surgeon from attempting radical extirpation.
